One world many beliefs

At Galliard, Religious Education is taught across the school and the units of study are taken from the Enfield Agreed Syllabus. The major world faiths are covered: Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism with each unit focusing on either a festival or an aspect of the religion.

With our diverse school community, the children are able to enrich our RE teaching with their personal experiences. The way in which we teach RE is relevant for all children, whatever their religion and belief, our fundamental aim is to ensure children have a respect and understanding of the beliefs of others. It shows how religion influences individuals, families, communities and cultures, encourages reflection, and develops and affirms personal identity and personal citizenship.
