On Tuesday 15th October , our School Parliament members from Years 3 to 6 had an exciting trip to the Houses of Parliament. The visit included a fascinating tour of Westminster, where we explored both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. We were lucky enough to witness a live debate, which gave us a real insight into how democracy works in the UK and the crucial role Parliament plays in shaping our society.
We are very proud of our cross-country team who competed at Forty Hall last week. Our children showed determination, resilience and a good team spirit to complete the course to the best of their ability. There were 300 children running the course, and we had four children finish in the top 50 positions. Well done!
Galliard has held elections for Class Councillors in years 1-5 and MPs from Year 6. Last Monday our MP Candidates shared their manifestos in assemblies with their Family Group and on Friday years 1-6 went to the polls. Thank you to all the year 6 pupils who put themselves forward for MP. We are so proud of your commitment to making Galliard even better for all.
Warm congratulations to our elected MPS; Hatun and Nicole for Family 1. Lena and Sameeah for Family 2 and Stefani and Mira for Family 3.
The boys football team performed really well and in difficult weather conditions!
Galliard beat Alma 5-0 and drew 0-0 against Bush Hill Park.
Well done Boys! 😀⚽️👍
Incredibly proud of all our year 6 pupils who put themselves forward as prospective MPs. Listening to their speeches, it is clear how determined they are to work with the teaching team to make Galliard even better for everyone.
Skipping is back at Galliard!!!
Top Secret Scientific Mission!
This week the winners and runners up of the Easter Science Competition took part in their Top Secret Scientific Mission! They all worked well in teams to solve a series of outdoor problems which revealed a secret code word that was needed to open up a box of important resources! Back in class, they entered the code word, opened the box and used the resources to carry out some fun scientific experiments!
Well done to everyone who took part!
The netball team visited St.Matthews for a friendly match. We played a couple of games against their whole squad. We didn’t win but we showed great sportsmanship towards the opposition. Well done girls!
On 11th & 12th of June a company called Science Boffins visited Galliard Primary School and carried out some spectacular workshops and assemblies.
Our team picked up a number of first, second and third places 🎉🎉
Congratulations to everyone who took part in this year's Easter Science Competition. There were so many amazing entries and we are very proud of all the children who took part.
