School Parliament Visits the Houses of Parliament
On Tuesday 15th October , our School Parliament members from Years 3 to 6 had an exciting trip to the Houses of Parliament. The visit included a fascinating tour of Westminster, where we explored both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. We were lucky enough to witness a live debate, which gave us a real insight into how democracy works in the UK and the crucial role Parliament plays in shaping our society.
Our students were experts at displaying their own knowledge throughout the day, asking insightful and interesting questions that impressed our guides and helped deepen their understanding of democracy. This will enable them to be even more effective representatives of our school community.
The day concluded with a fun and interactive workshop, reinforcing everything we learnt and ensuring our School Parliament is ready to bring these ideas back to school. It was an inspiring experience for all involved, and we look forward to seeing how this trip will enhance the work of our School Parliament in representing the views of all pupils.
