Attendance Hub
Galliard Primary School Attendance Hub offers to work with schools looking to increase attendance. As a school we recognise that there is not a single approach to improving attendance, rather the importance of a whole school approach that combines sharp procedures and consistent and significant adult commitment. We see the value of rigorous well-implemented systems, but these must compliment a school culture that sees attendance as the responsibility of every member of staff to remove the barriers there are to children attending, and for some children there are many. Ultimately, school needs to be somewhere where children want to go.

We are very proud to have been selected to lead an Attendance Hub in London.
We are one of five schools that make up Children First Academy Trust which is located in Edmonton in North London.
Galliard Primary School is a large 3 form entry primary school with an additional resource provision situated in Jubilee ward, identified as the seventh most deprived ward in the borough of Enfield and it is amongst the top 20% of deprived wards in England. A third of all our pupils are pupil premium and over half identify English as not being their first language. We also have (114) 17% of our pupils on the SEND register and (39) 6% of our pupils have EHCPs which is well above the national average.
At Galliard we have a strong ethos of inclusion and we work closely with our families to engage them in school life. Our children have access to learning mentors, pastoral care and Nurture group facilities. There is a collective understanding of the impact of non-attendance on pupils’ learning and staff at every level speak with one voice about our ambition for all pupils and the part they have to play in addressing the challenge of improving school attendance and punctuality.
Our view is that the children deserve the best and their teachers are their chance of accessing the best education.
To access our resources and join our hub meetings you must register first with the DfE. They will assign you a hub.
